automation is great until it starts smoothing over the part where you notice something is off. i’ve seen that in ops work — the tool does the obvious steps fine, but the human only catches the weird edge case because they still know what “normal” looks like.
where do people draw that line for themselves? some stuff feels safe to automate, but some of it starts turning into muscle memory without understanding.
