I keep noticing that the nice part of automation is not just speed, it’s that it quietly turns a fiddly task into background noise. The annoying part is when you only notice the cost the day the tool breaks and you have to do the thing by hand from memory.
Where do you all draw that line? I’m fine automating the boring repeatable stuff, but some jobs feel like they stay healthy only if you still do them manually once in a while.
