Bad Colors

I’m using hexadecimal color codes (#6699CC) to define the background color of my flash movie, and the background color of the table it sits in.

Even though both hex colors the same, the flash background is slightly lighter in color.

This makes the site look ‘less-cool’… anyone know why it does this, and preferably how to fix it?

You can see the site i’m workin on here

thanks

this is very strange… when i click my own link in previous post, it comes up fine…

If I type in the address, the aforementioned problem arises…

anyone else ever had this problem?

about the hex colour thing, i would just open up the color mixer window and instead of typing in hex colours, i would go into the RGB thing (its the big box with every color) and then select if from there, go into the color swatches window, and, below the other swatches fill a new swatch (just click). then go into the background selector thing and grab that color. if it still doesn’t work then theres a bug in flash

that, or just select a slightly darker color to start with

Thanks coppertop… these are two solutions that you wouldn’t think one would have to go to though…

I remember now this happening with .png’s that i imported too.
There would be a box of slightly lighter color surrounding the .png

here is an example… http://www.zfxdesign.com/misc/gBarPreload.html

if i’m the only one seeing this, then let me know

:cyclops:

oh that? thats transperancy, thats unavaoidable as far as i know. unless, you edit the PNG to have a background the same colour as that of the movie

well yeah the second address i posted deals with .png transparency…

the first was a problem with the movie background color…

and if flash doesn’t recognize .png transparency as really being transparent, flash just lost a lot of cool points…

:sure: Nevermind about the .png thing… i was doing that wrong.
I give the cool points back:thumb:

still problems with background color though…
