Basic Answer?

For some reason I haven’t been able to find any actual pixel dimensions for browsers like the max res for 1024x768 inside a browser. So what are the actual dimensions for 800x600 and 1024x768 with status bar? cant get it right with experimenting. (and if you’re ambitious, dimensions without the status bar)

Depends on what browser you are using.

I have the web developer toolbar for Firefox and it tells me the dimensions for the current stuff inside the browser.

lets assume IE 5.5

by rule i usually decrease all my designs by 50 pixels from w/e resolution i’m using. but that’s just me.
