Be easy on me

Simplicity Filling Systems

There’s a few quirks in the site that I still have to fix, i.e. links, spelling, etc.

For the most part, it’s made with CSS, the only php in it is the mailer. On that note, i can’t find a script that will allow attachments to be sent via email, anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in Advance.

sorry, not to be harsh, but its broken in firefox 3

the top nav is not sitting inside the box, the blurred gradient in the content box has fallen out to the right, and some other stuff…

needs work. plus it feels very ‘un-designed’. i recommend you look at some CSS galleries for inspiration

Yep the nav is messed up here too, and im using firefox three, its not really interactive at all, like when you hover over your services it just sits there could highlight or something and it has alot of white space, and the virtually no contrast

hey guys, thankls for the help. I forgot to mention that i’m quite limited on browser testing since i’m stationed in Iraq for now and i’m limited to I.E 6 (GOV computer) and Safari (my laptop). The nave bar should have a “hover” effect, but as i said before, i’m very limited to testing out here so i can only go off of what i see in IE 6 or safari. As for the contrast issue, i could use some suggestions if you guys have any.

Design could be improved right now it feels very light in overall colour.

You have a lot of unneeded divs for that nav.

[ot]^You can’t install FF3 in Iraq?[/ot]

no, it’s a GOVERNMENT computer, i’m lucky enough that i can access my brother’s webhosting company…and that that i can sit at a computer instead of standing outside all freggin night like some of my counterparts.

I think something like this will fix your nav:

[ot]Oh sorry when you said “my laptop” I figured it was your personal one.[/ot]

It looks like everythings opacity is set at .5 don’t be afraid to add some darker colours, find a happy medium.

[ot]I installed Firefox on my USB key, and it works nicely on the craptastic Dells the DoD gives everyone. I feel your pain, though.[/ot]

edit:/ Oh I forgot to add: don’t be afraid of color. Also, make the drop shadows much more subtle; it’ll make for a much cleaner effect.

the header nav doesn’t load for me on two inner pages (About us, Contract Bottling and Packaging, and Contact) - is that just me or do other people also not see it? so just check the code and make sure it’s there… then use Templarian’s ‘vertical positioning’ page…

one question though - on every page, beneath the nav bar, you have two red links - one to take you home, (even though it sits 3 millimeters under the ‘home’ bit of the nav bar) and the other is a link to the same page the viewer is on - or rather even more weirdly, it’s a link to the index directory of that page. Why would you want to have that there?

also your main content is jutting out of the main content boxes on almost all pages - it sticks about a centimeter out to the right. this might be because of margin/ padding issues? shouldn’t be too hard to fix…

anyhow I think it’s a really good attempt. the home page looks pretty much spot-on, excepting the out of place nav bar… and I support other comments suggesting stronger colors might be good.

all in all a good effort! keep at it…

PS I’m looking at it in mozilla - and the nav does have a hover effect.

thanks for all the replies…as for browser testing, let me rephraze what i was saying: My laptop IS personal (Macbook) my PC (which i’m on right now) is GOV. The problem i have is that we’re on a restricted internet access. Most websites are blocked out here, luckily Kirupa.com and other sites are not. Mozilla.com on the other hand and a lot of downloading sites are restricted due to the fact that they are in a “Shareware / Freeware” category, and there are many categories that are blocked out here…so downloading some thinggs tend to be very difficult if not impossible.
How do I suggest the use of different colors to my stubburn brother? He wants me to use Blue, Red, and gray…

Celandine - Those red links were meant to be “breadcrumbs” but i don’t see the need for them anymore so off they go. they’ve been more of an annoyance rather than any help.
