Books in Flash

I am planning to buy two books, Flash MX Bible and Flash MX ActionScipt Bible. They cost Php 2,000 each, around US$ 40…is it advisable? Will i be able to get something from those books? wachu guys think?

I’ve heard the Bibles are good, but not great books. The Friends of Ed books are excellent, and a new one I just got cfor actionscrip called Flash MX Designer’s Actionscript reference is very good. Do a search here, there have been a bunch of threads on books.

aight bcogswell11! thanks!

I had the Flash 5 Bible, and it was quite helpful to look things up. I think it depends on exactly what you want to do with Flash. It doesn’t go into much heavy scripting, so you’d be better off buying a more script based book if that’s what you’re after doing. There’s a book out by a guy called Gary Rosenzweig that deals with games and gadgets in Flash.

i want to learn everything, from designing to drawing to actionscripting. i want to make websites using flash. i also want to learn how to do chat, guestbooks and forums in flash. what books should i buy then?

“the definitive guide” book from Colin Moock is considered the best

though, there are also entire books just on XML and flash, so its kind of hard to get everything out of just one or two books.
