Build your own SuperComputer

The Furbeowulf Cluster Computer is easy to make (with the right equipment) and cheap! Extremely strong, too!

take a look for yourself. shoot off 10 bucks at the mall, and another $20 at radio shack, and you’re half way there.

(Extremely good read, worth the time)

Okay people. Maybe this will get you to read it: “It’s funny.”

To be fair, however, it should be noted that Furbys placed in IRS telephone support positions received no more complaints than their human counterparts and studies showed that they provided a comparable level of accuracy in their answers to taxpayer questions.

fur - beowulf … that’s good

happy tears People noticed my thread.

feignedSniphle it’s the least we could do … < snicker > :beam:

jK - it was an as.stounding topic !

Very funny - but how did you come across the site it’s on…?

A bit spooky?

I dunno? I don’t know who that is.
I was actually looking to find out how to build my own cluster, and google popped that up.

How do I start making a cluster?

get 8 or more computers, first of all. the rest i’m still unsure of.

Oh, the reason I have clusters on the mind —>

199$ for a PC! 1ghz, 128 MB ram, 20 gig HD
fifty more and you can upgrade! 2ghz. some other things maybe.

crazy stuff!

I found that on a link to stuff about G5 from in the Apple thread. For the price of a G5 you can just get 10 of these linux comps and make a supercomputer!

I know and I want to make one:) Do you know where I could learn how to do that?

Get 8 or more compx… I kind of want to know what I’m doing first  lol

errr-ummmm… scrooooolllll doooowwwnnn to the bottom of aislin’s link…

to the four(?) lnks for real clustering info … [beowulf]- etAl

=)

THANKS R_R!!!
**Slap myself repeatedly

LOL - =) … one wouldn’t righttly expect a serious direction off of a joke page I 'spose … now would one ???

>>>Here’s a quuickie FAQ 4U<<<

And the future of Furby-based supercomputing? With a working supercomputing array, complete with artificial intelligence and speech recognition and synthesis capabilities, why not ask it?

“Oooh-tay u-naigh mahh-weah aye-gwam!” it said, in chorus. I’m not quite sure what that means, but isn’t exploring the unknown what science is all about?

lol :stuck_out_tongue:
