I want to create my own homemade business cards and I thought of creating a protruding business card, but I have no idea how I can create this with an inkjet printer or other device?
Any suggestions are welcome! :rambo:

You need to have a print shop do it for you, a regualr inkjet printer isn’t capable of embossing.
yeah just make your desing and go to a printing shop like EG said and ask them what are their guidelines in order to print jobs done by someone else, create you biz cards according to their guidelines and take it to print, i paid 60 bucks for 500 biz cards thats cheap over here i bet you can get some better prices in the states though :-\
you could technically do it with an inkjet but the quality will be bad. I have an epson photo printer and it still does not do cards right, yeah you are better designing your cards then taking them to a professional
3D, your epson can do embossings?
nope…was that what he was referring to? Maybe I should read all the post instead of enough to get the topic
When he said protruding for some reason I was thinking PS…and not physically
haha I hope protruding means the actual image is lifted off the card a lil otherwise I have no idea what cookie is talking about.
lexmark makes a printer which uses wax as “ink” so the effect is that of embossing…
fairly cheap too… I think…

it’s called a phaser
they’re pretty cool…it’s kind of embossed but not really…it’s only slightly raised…cheaper to go to a print shop prolly (unless you’re going to print A LOT of cards)

use a laser printer over an inkjet, it gives more texture too =)
