hey everyone. i’m sorta new here… i lurk, try to learn, get frustrated and log out every so often. one thing i can’t seem to figure out about PHP, ASP, MySQL, databases, and even XML is “When should i use it? And which one is suited best for it?” I’m clueless.
I’m sure a lot depends on the programmer’s opinion and “comfort level” with each, but when i try to read tutorials, i spend more time looking for a glossary than actually digesting the information.
i feel like my sites are getting “stale” so i want to teach myself something new. i’m a designer who taught himself HTML and Flash, but everything else is still above my head.
More than links, I’d just love to hear your take on what to use and when to use it.
