Alrighty, I’m looking into buying an entry-level DSLR to replace the crappy old Kodak EasyShare point-and-shoot I’ve been using for the past 2/3-of-a-decade. That being said, I have almost no experience with DSLR photography, but I do know a fair amount about optics and can learn pretty quickly.
With that in mind, I am currently debating between the Nikon D3000 and the Canon Rebel XS. I’d like to be able to start out fairly basic with the functionality, and then move up to really detailed, granular control later on. The ~$600 ballpark is perfect, though if absolutely necessary I can splurge a bit upwards. Anyway, I’d really appreciate you guys’ input. I:-)
