I have a .swf file that loads a .jpg file into it and I want a preloader that reads the total bytes and total bytes loaded of the .jpg file. Can that be done?
load the jpg first and then preload the movie.
For example in the first frame put the jpg-loading action and in the second(or the second and third) frame put the preloader.
does flash know how big the .jpg file is while it is loading it?

try putting a real big pic. or maybe sumbdoy else has a slower one.
I tried that but the darn proxy stored the old pic, but I think it works, will know for sure tomorrow
