Can ANYONE view this flash file?!

http://www.hinduvidya.com/1.htm

I can view it on my comp fine, but it wont load up when uploaded to the above loaction [or any], and anyone i send it to can’t see it either.

Why is this? What am i doing wrong?

Hindu%20Vidya.com/1.swf

you have a space in the name of the file. remove it and it will work.

Rev

I dont understand…change it where?

The swf is called “1.swf” and the html file is called “1.htm”

where do i change it?

ohhhh…it’s because the folder it’s stored in has a space in the name! :open_mouth:

STILL does not work

???

do not PM me to look at your thread! If I have time, I will get to it.

Now, looking at the link above, I get a 404 file not found error.

Take your time.

After “page not found” I removed the “/1.htm” and got this::

I think your issues lay with your serverHost … or spelling…or ?

thank you friends,
it seems the problem was caused by storing the swf and html file in seperate folders.

Don’t know why, but when i put them into the same folder and resaved the html doc, it worked fine.

Didn’t know that, but at least i wont make the same mistake again.

Is it possible to have my banner as a swf file in the html [using frames] and then having my menu as a swf as well? I mean, it is possible to have more than one flash file in a html document?

If not…i’m stuck using regular html with just a flash banner [header]

Please don’t say that is what i’m doomed to :link:

I ask this because it doesn’t work…:S

You can designate swf’s to play in tables … which are easier to manage than frames anyway (size them right to fit) and you can call as many as you can fit in … just make sure that if they aren’t in the same folder that you indicate the correct path to them in the address … relative paths are assumed unless specified otherwise

…But what about your main page ? … do you even have an index.html ??? That is the first place the browser will look when going for “yoursite.com” without any “/files” on the end

Dude, you are a g!
Thanks so much.

Index.html was taken off for now lol, because i was running my comp on max resolution and didn’t realise everyone esle was having to scroll to see my 1000x 700 movie heheh

But now, i will put it back up

I will try the tables thing.

Thanks a lot!

1000 x 700 :!: :!: :!: … that’s scarry

…just my opinion:: if you’re going to make your view larger than the normal screen probably should confine to only scrolling in one direction…ie: only one of your dimensions to exceed screen size…preferably to scroll up<->down rather than L<->R

…just my thoughts
