I want to build forum board in my website for my friend to communicate do you think Flash MX can do the job?

not flash MX alone. you will need to use PHP or ASP and databases… but yes it is possible. check out www.phpforflash.com I think is the link…
Yeah, but you need to use PHP/mySQL combined with Flash.
Make sure you aren’t jumping ahead of yourself though.
Jubba is writing up a tutorial on how to create a standard guestbook in Flash, that might help you out.

I’ve created a small user based .txt file forum before!
Using HTML and ASP… So If you can set up a PHP site that handles all the commands that you send to with FLASH… You can save them into a database or txt file databse and then have your flash read them… It would make a dman cool looking forum if someone made on in flash (begins thinking about it)…

though a forum with a flash interface would be cool, think of the download time and plug-in availability… im not sure if its such a good idea, though it sure is a cool idea=)

Eyezburg did a whole forum in Flash. He hasn’t been around much lately though.

It’s not that hard is it? well, you can modify the php files so it would be flash friendly, what you only need is, sendAndLoad, and onLoad, i did’nt say that its that easy, but again, it’s not hard…
BTW how about downloading the source of the book, php for flash…
I’ve gotta get down to Border’s again and gte myself another Flash book… Last book I got weas solely for Flash Games… And that turned out to be a winner book… So now I’ve gotta find a good book like ActionScripting Bible… hehe…

yeah, a small forum is possible. I made a guestbook, but it could me easily modified to create a small (very small) forum using just a text file and a PHP file or two.

I’m working on the tutorial whenever I have free time. And when I get my real computer back I will have the images and everything so I can put the whole tutorial together and I will send it to Kirupa as soon as I can. :)
