Hi people, I have a different problem that I never met before. Internet Explorer is not opening some sites (actually %95 of the whole web) and gives error like cannot find the server. All I can enter is, kirupaforum, google (not yahoo) and some others.
I opened icq and even the ad above couldnt open.
Any ideas?

have you checked to see if you’ve been 127ed? What you do is go: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\ and then check the “hosts” file with notepad and remove all entries that look like this: 127.0.0.1 (sitename) It sounds like a virus that I have forgotten the name of.

HijackThis! will also detect this error and auto repair if you check it. usually says internet hijacked by… or lsp error… or some such.
also try pinging them - open a command prompt and type in ‘ping <hostname>’
If that works, then your problem isn’t with DNS.
Where are you in the world? There were some tornado’s in the east usa earlier and the net went down around the maryland/virginia area.
