Hey all,
I’ve created a small flash app that uses external swf’s. When I put the app onto my website, the external swf’s don’t work inside of the main swf. When I just double-click on the app on the remote server, it works fine, but when I view it in a webpage on the internet…it does not work right.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Hmmmm…this is unusual to not get a response, especially since it’s been 4 days. Maybe I did not word my original post correctly.
I will try again…
I’ve created a swf file that uses xml to bring in some images. On my local machine it works perfect. So I uploaded the file along with the xml and other images via ftp to a testing site on the internet and the swf file comes up, but the external files do not show in the parent swf file.
I contacted 1&1, the hosting company, and they said I need to use absolute paths not relative paths.
Anyone have experience with this? It seems I should be able to use relative paths too.
Are you using relative paths like this: “…/mySwf.swf”?
Obviously I don’t know what you might be using to upload your files.
Last year I was briefly without Dreamweaver and tried using GoLive. With GoLive I had the issue you are describing wherein the main swf played fine but the external swfs did not.
Again, I don’t know what you are using so this point may not have anything to do with the conversation.
