The PSU (power supply) for my Dell Dimension 8200 isn’t good enough… and it’s rather difficult to find replacement Dell PSU’s, because they’re proprietary, so except for a small amount of retailers, you can’t really find them anywhere. The ones you can find are really expensive.
So, I wanted to buy a new PSU that wasn’t so proprietary, so it would be less expensive to get a new one. Now, the more common ones are shaped differently than Dell’s, so I’ll need a new case too.
The Dimension’s use a mobo based off of the Intel 850E mobo, and I’m guessing it’s ATX… can someone confirm that for me?
Here’s some images of it (not mine… but the same thing)

My other question is… will it matter if I use a different type of PSU?
I think the most common PSU’s use the 8x2 power cord bundle thing which I believe is in mine too.
