I’m currently going to a 2 year college to save money and get my academics out of the way. I live in Michigan and am pursuing to get a career in web design. However, I also have a huge interest in making videos…not films, but more like editing short videos. I like adding effects, sounds, music, and just creating the emotion of the video with everything involved. Idealy, I’d like to gain knowledge in web design and multimedia.
My counslers at my current college have directed me towards transfering to Eastern Michigan to finish my 4 years. But I’m really wondering if it’s really going to help me. I really haven’t thought much for Eastern. They’re always on the news for something bad. They don’t seem to have a good rep.
Then a friend thought of “college for creative studies” in detroit. I thought great school, expensive, but a great rep. However, it doesn’t really seem like they specialize in web design. It looks like just a few courses.
Then I was looking at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. They have exactly the classes I want to take. However, I would definetly have to move…which costs a lot of money. I could commute to the other two colleges. I’ve been looking at colleges forever, and I just don’t know who to talk to or believe.
I just want someone to look at my resume alone and recognize a college that is reputable. Of course I can get a degree at any one of them, but I want a job when I get out.
Does anyone have any suggestions or advice towards a college to attend? I’ve been looking for scholarships too, but so far I found no such luck.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
