I’ve been realising more and more lately that I don’t have a very good eye for color - I’m not colorblind at all but when I do any design/art it just doesn’t work as well as it could.
Now I have looked at color theory in the past, I’m not asking for more advice in that area, and i know of resources such as colorlovers. What I am wondering is, does anyone have any suggestions/personal experience about using color better? As i have done more painting and art, I have noticed my color choices improving slightly, but not very much… i’m wondering how I can really hone these skills. Some people are just born with a good eye for it, they make color choices instinctively… how do the rest of us improve (other than just “practice”)?
Reiterate once more : YES I KNOW that practicing helps, but it’s slow and i’m sure there must be things we can focus on to help.
(cue “witty” comment about practicing).
