Does anyone know of a good color scheme tool. I found one called color schemer and on is a extension for FWMX. But they both reek. I currently do my colors manually but I am trying to refine my process. lemme know ya’ll

I have a book on the shelf called “Color Harmony for the Web”.
It’s been helpful in working with print stuff occasionally as well. Despite the bland title, it’s a really good book. It’s something like 180 pages and starts with background on color (psychological effects, color trends, etc.) then moves on to a lot of color combination swatches in categories like “nostalgic”, “earthy”, “romantic”, “energetic”, “classic”, “calming”, “elegant”, and on and on. It even tosses in hexadecimal conversions for all of the colors.
I’ve tried the color shemer as well…bleh! While it’s not a little app you can load up whenever you need it, it’s a really useful book and worth having around.
Amazon has it here:
If you do a search for “color harmony” at Amazon, you get matches for a whole series of books the same publisher has put out that I like a lot as well.
cool man thanks. I forgot to mention that if anyone has a favorite book or something on it lemme know. I am going to go and check out that book. I spend far to much time on color schemes and stuff.
oh yeah…you should take a peek at the “Color Index”, too. I’m a big big fan of all of the “Index” books they have out.
Word to your mother.
