Hi all,
I’m creating a portfolio website in flash. I’ll explain the situation in detail and then see if you guys think its a flash issue or a code issue. It’s got me stumped.
I’m externally loading children .swf files into a UILoader component using nav buttons which works dandy. However I’ve started to add a preloader into a child .swf (I’m putting the preloader by itself in the first scene named ‘aboutpreloader’ which when it loads, it opens the first frame of scene two named ‘aboutcontent’
Now this works fine when testing the child swf individually (please read on, don’t assume its not fully working in the parent, cause it kind of does)
I test the parent .swf with the externally loading child .swf just through the ‘test movie’ menu option. And it doesn’t work. It plays the preloader over and over and doesn’t bring up the second scene of the child .swf
The funny thing is tho. When I choose to simulate download (parent .swf), it works. It does load correctly and opens the second scene in the child .swf
Do I have an issue? Am I missing something? or is this just flash being tempermental?
