Conquering the World

K. So I have flash 8, and had this idea of building a world, and am wondering what Flash platform I could/should build it on? It’s a learn more about Flash and OOP development hobby project. I was wondering if anybody had attemped something like this or any (serious) thoughts on the subject? My main concern, at this point, is starting with a good foundation so I don’t get stuck later.

I say world, cause so far, I figure it should be OOP based so characters & objects can interact with each other and introduce unplanned/dynamic elements into the story/game. Some sort of AI, cause I’m thinking about a way of characters & objects having different behaviors?

The eye candy is sort of like the old video games like Kings Quest and Space Ace, that you flip from scene to scene, except the scenes are animated, and the main character mouse controlled. The interface is 2D vector based. But conceptually the frame work is 3D, aka N, E, S, W, Up Down, as I expect characters and objects to be able to travel to different ‘rooms/scenes’.

Oh ya… and this isn’t a dream wish to build the ultimate game.
