Sorry for all the bad question i seem to be posing here, I think im improving slowly though =)
I have a carfully constructed shape that i have made from about 50 symbols. At fram 50 in my timeline i want all the symbols to become graphics rather than movies. I am looking for a better way to acieve this than creating a new instance, and posistioing it in the right place for each symbol.
why dont you take all your symbols, group them and turn them into a graphic? By doing that, you’re dealing with one graphic that has one _x and one _y… does that not work for you?
that doesn’t work becuase (And this was probably a bad idea) the shape is constructed of 5 symbols, and those 5 symbols are each made up of 6 symbols!
I did it manually eventually.
Maybe rather than making symbols containing symbols i should have made a group? The only reason I did it was so it would be quicker to make the finished shape, but I think it would probably have worked with a group
you can select all your symbols and make a new graphic from them. If you then edit your new graphic, the symbols inside it will be intact, just like a movie clip. It is far easier to do it this way. So, you were on the right track, and it’s okay to use your symbols like that, but I still would have made them one, at least to accomplish what you described.
