I was using flash the other day, and wondered to myself about making a custom scrolbar. Instead of using the scrolbar in the components section, could I make one from scratch. I have absolutely no idea where to start so I am posting here to get your wisdom. I am attatching a FLA. Once you see this, you’ll know what I mean. I use Flash MX.

Hhave you ever looked at the script on the Flash scrollbar? There is heaps. Some of it is so that you can drag and drop it, but alot of it has to do with making the text scroll.
There are brief (and pretty poor) instructions for changing the scrollbar appearance in it’s script.
All I can suggest is go to the Compnents folder in the library and expand it until you see the movieclips that make up the arrows and scroll bar. Just edit them, but make sure you don’t move them relative to their registration point or your scroll bar will look like it’s been run over. It’s tricky to align everything so it’s probably better to just make simple changes.
The preview for the scrollbar in the work area will still look like hte default, but test your movie and you can see any changes.
