Well here is the problem. Yesterday I decided to speed-disk(Norton) my computer cause I hadn’t done it in sooooo long; ran analysis, and 90% or so of my hd is fragmented. Well, the speed-disk went super slow (3 percent done in like 5 hours? WHAT?) So I changed a few thigns, thought maybe antivirus and might be causing it to restart (although it says it can run in bg). Still no luck. Googled it; found that when you have a large amount of files, it has trouble speed disking. Decided to try to do a regular defrag. Used the windows XP disk defrag that came with the OS. Let it run all night, woke up to find that it said some files could not be properly defragged and it was still a pretty much fragmented drive (went from 90->80 or so). I know when I initially told it to defrag it told me it wanted 15% HD space to run optimal, but I had 5% (40 gigs fills up rather fast… I have been deleting and backing up sooo much over the last few days… deleted about 200 mb’s of wallpapers and backedup some invader zim and installers I had lying around, that freed me from less than a gig to just over 2… :P) So is this the problem, not enough space? Or has anyone had a problem like this?
