Dimension Settings

What is your advice for using the “Dimension” setting in the “Publish Setting” dialogue window, and your advice for dimensions when publishing Flash Movies to the web generally?

The following are my understanding as to what these options actually provide.

Match Movie – Does what it says on the tin – Publishes a swf with the same dimensions as you used in authoring the movie.

Pixels – Enter your own dimensions. I thought if you entered a value totally out of whack this would distort your movie, but it just seems to scale it proportionally based on the lowest figure.

Percent – Provides a movie at the given percent in relation to the users browser.

I tend to use “Percent” & at 100% to scale up in the users browser. I can’t see any downside to this except that raster graphics can become distorted.

I have noticed that a lot of people use either a “Pixels” or “Match Movie” to specify sizes as well as embedding movies within a HTML page.

Could someone talk me through this or point me in the direction of a tut that explains the pros & cons of the subject. (I have looked) Also what is the optimum browser size when using “Pixels” or “Match Movie?”

Thank you for any help.
