DNS Not Updated?

Hey Kirupa,

I noticed a lot of people still post links that say 64.207.155.38/forums and whatnot. My question is of course… why do they still have that? Was the DNS not updated?

It is a pain because if I sign in under kirupaforum.com and go to a link that uses the IP like that, I have to log in all over again.

Just wondering what is up.

Same here - I use kirupaforum.com as well. I guess many people simply never changed to kirupaforum.com. They simply decided to stick with the IP version. All the links in the forums work with either kirupaforum or the IP.

I noticed when I search for threads and I find one from before the move, the links to older threads in there are dead.

Do you know why this is? Did they not get transferred in the move?

Lost the problem with the older threads is that they don’t have /forums/ included in the URL :frowning: There was no way for me to go around it because MT has the /admin folder reserved for their server’s admin purposes - vB requires /admin for its own purposes.
