Is there any way to have graphics from one frame in a frameset overlap into another frame?
For instance a nav frame set to the left, the graphic for the frame has drop shadows and such, can this graphic overlap into the main frame to it’s right so you don’t have to scroll the entire frameset to read the data in the main frame?
no but you can use a graphic package to split the image and place one bit in one fram and one in the other have no border that makes the image look seemless (until you load another html into the frame.
Frames are bad anyway unless used in very much moderation
Thanks for the help, I was afraid that this would be the problem, I have used split graphics before, but since the demographics of users is so vast on some of my client’s sites, working on solving the problem by having all of his HTML sites converted to Flash to solve the frameset issue.
try using layers (which are a hassle in html) instead of frames, it might do something better. But alas, no, you can’t overlap frames between each other…

you can control the browser to some extent by not giving your tables sizes that way the table resize to whatever is in them so you can define the width of your table by the image in the table making a split graphic seem seamless even though it is in two different table cells
look at how excite re-jigs the tables if you alter the browser width
