DVD Drive Problem

I’m trying to plug my Pioneer DVR-105 as external to my laptop. I have a few questions.

  1. Back of the drive has master/slave…etc, what should I pick? The laptop has one HD.

  2. Whenever I boot Windows with it attached, it freezes My Computer and any other programs that are trying to start. Driver issues?

  3. Nero recognizes it but freezes when it’s on, everything back to normal when switched off. Driver issues?

Only problem is, I can’t find any drivers. I know it works because I’ve burned stuff with it before the format so now I’m stumped.
