Well sometimes Flash can be buggy like that and you have to scrap and restart that portion.
Try starting the text area from scratch again.
Are you sure you didn’t accidently delete the instance name of the text box?

I don’t know what just happened but it seems to be working now… Flash… Somebody aught to get spanked for this… But anyways thx!
LOL, no problem.
hey same problem here … my text field is in a movie clip… can that be the problem?
hmm had my font set to futura, changed it to verdana and it worked… weird… is it not pobible to include a font an pick that one?
If the font you are using on the textbox isn’t a typical font (one that not everyone has installed), then you have to set the font INSIDE Flash, and embed the font outlines (properties panel… button that says “Character…”)
lost, i think in that last post you have just helped me no end…
i knew about the “typical font” bit but completely 4 got about embedding characters to display…
tired i guess…
do you know if you have a font…
i.e. microsoft sans serif
used to display your text field, and it is not resident as a system font
i.e. on a mac…
will it just display a system font
i.e. arial
if you have not embedded outlines etc.?
I think it just shows the default browser font, no sure though :-\
np
i am going to have a look on a mac 2 morrow after i have uploaded the files…
when you embed the font it adds on an extra 10k+ to each movie thats getting called and the font doesn’t look so sharp…
thanQ 4 the help…
on a mac it will show helvetica.
cheers m8…
i like helvetica…
nice and clean
