Embarassed to ask (almost)

Almost embarassed to ask, but flash is a different beast, so . . .

Should I size my pictures down with photoshop before importing into flash? I’m using icon sized and full sized pictures on my site. I assumed that cropping would be the best (and having two versions of each pic) , but then again, flash does compress.

what does the forum say?

downsize in photoshop first - this usually produces the best results.

best results = visually or file size?

yep… you can do a …save for the Web in photoshop or try Fireworks, or even a jpg compression utility. Any one of these will produce better results than Flash alone.

both really… but the biggest factor effected is file size.
