Can someone please provide feed back on a site a freind of my mine and i are working on. we’re doing it a for a competition that Epilepsy Queensland are holding (well, my freind is, i’m doing it because its a great oppurtunity to learn about Flash)
anyway, could someone please provide feedback for me?

I know you said it had to apeal to children but still i dont think it is very apealing to a young child - it lacks a nice design - the use of gradients is just wrong - the navigation is very bad - i got lost and im almost an adult!! You get confused when navigating - when you click a drop down link on the top right menu to make it close you have to click it again you should make it so when mouse rolls of it, then it closes. Overall iv seen better sites which are made for children - a child couldnt navigat this. I dont like it sorry…
oh yeah and the text is horribal - the pink is ugly! no offence or anything
It needs more strobe.
Seriously though, it looks too amature. Shape tweens and gradients (poorly used) are a great indication of this. The font looks like something my 12 year old sister would use on her website, and no offence, but I think she could do it better.
If it’s for children, use lots of colours, not just pink and blue shades or whatever you’ve got there. Try researching kid’s TV shows and other kid’s websites like nicolodian etc. Maybe use a fancy font for the headings, but try and keep the info readable.
It’s also far too large.

But this doesnt mean give up designing and learning flash…i was crap like that once as well…
seeing how you’re buttons look after the whole “intro/explanation”-stuff i’d say you can do far better than the “amateur”-impression, that seemingly everyone gets after watching the intro, implies. therefor i personally get the feeling that you (two) didn’t really care to much about your project.
as the oracle said in matrix: reloaded, and pretty much a billion people before her: “everything needs love”. try and put some into it 
seeing your buttons, i’d say you have the skill, hope this forum helped you get the motivation as well 
Try looking around more at what people have done here also. It really helps you improve. Whenever I find myself a bit lost with design I always pull out a magazine or something with other people’s work (usually those who have won awards) and gain a lot of inspiration from it.
look through kool sites and site of the week. Find a site that you realy like and try to be better than them. That’s how I did it :). Keep trying and you will do better
Also don’t use gradients, I think they look unprofessional:) And up your Frame Rate.
PS. copying vostrosoba (or wutever his name is :)) a little in ur footer there?
