Equilibrium

After I watched Matrix the other day my friend told me about this movie so I rented it. One thing i have to say is that it is amazing. it’s a movie about an attempt to create a perfect society without war, so all pieces considered for entertainment (paintings, music, colors, books, etc) are considered contraband in this era. this movie is really about one man who stands up against the system to try to take it down and bring emotion back to the inhabitans of this city who are not allowed to exhibit it (or else be killed). this movie is excellent for its storyline and its action scenes which rival matrix’s. this movie wasn’t publicized too well because of the time this movie was made (9-11, terrorists, etc) so not a lot of people have heard about it. but if you like matrix, you should definitely check this movie out.

lol is it a matrix wannabe?

haha…

yeah I’ve heard things about it as well, but mostly I’ve seen the posters (such as the one shown by senocular) and other media support for it… and I had to laugh, regardless of the quality of this movie its attempt to piggy-back on the matrix is so blatent.

Although I do want to see this movie (I still think it is funny how hard core they jumped on the band wagon for this one).

Peace

i saw it in theaters. its a great movie

Man i looked at that poster twice and thought it was for the matrix lol. IT does look liek a clone but still i will go rent this.

True. The clothes, the guns, it’s very Matrix-ish. Even the story is a bit comparable if you look at the big picture (humans being “controlled”). But who cares. It’s The Matrix without being The Matrix. The action scenes with the guns are very original, the music is awesome, the story is good enough to enjoy, even if there are some mistakes in it.

If you love The Matrix, this one is a must see. Forbidden for Notting Hill fans.

Why can’t you like this and Notting Hill? :stuck_out_tongue:

 • Soul :s:

Well, I suppose you can enjoy both movies, but you know… Notting Hill, Pretty Woman, Bridget Jones, blah blah… die-hard fans of such movies are usually brain dead and think movies like Equilibrium are stupid and too violent. They also like to keep everything clean… kitchen, bed room and have 15 body lotions + 3 hair conditioners. But that’s usually

“Did you see Donnie Darko?”
“Yeah… scary bunny huh?”

Shoot me. You know?

that bunny gave me nightmares! :!:

That’s usually because it’s women who watch Bridget Jones. I’ve never watched it and don’t want to… I am quite happy watching violent films. But this doesn’t stop me also having several hair conditioners. :beam:

Oh, trust me, I know guys who love Bridget Jones’ diarrhoea. :stuck_out_tongue:
I don’t mean movies have to be violent to be good… I mean that people like that are usually not open for unrealistic movies. Like Equilibrium.

What is conditioner for anyway?

Fair point.

Um… To condition your hair? It’s a girl thang. :beam:

Admit it, you don’t know what it’s for and you just buy it “because you’re worth it” :stuck_out_tongue:

You’re on to me. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think it’s to make our hair shiny and nice looking. I guess I’ve just always used it and never questioned it’s existance.
