Excel help please

anyone here use excel at work and know what the fastest way to learn it would be ? video training recommendations, books ?

There isn’t really any skill involved. It’s basically putting numbers into a cell, dragging it to make more, using a few commands (by looking up in the Help section) for dynamic stuff.

it’s pretty easy, but the easiest way of learning, i guess, is to use excel frequently

There’s a crap load of forumlas and stuff tho, there’s some kind of glossary or something built into the app I think…

What about VB? Gotta know that if you wanna make some groovy stuff in excel, I made tic tac toe once :stuck_out_tongue:

What are you tryin to do? Unfortunately I have to handle it often :frowning:

I just hit F1 in excel when I need to learn something. That would be your best bet. If you want to start gettin ‘groovy’ with it, I would suggest learning the VB part of it like seb says…and searching the web for “groovy excel shortcuts”

What is it you wanna create in excel?

well my wife got a great job at an insurance company where she will be using Excel. For several weeks they are training her in Excel but she would like to learn it on her own time also since she never used Excel before.

Open it up and play around with it. I had never opened Access and had hardly used Excel for anything more than a simple graph for a science project or two, however, I took a test to get out of my tech credit for high school (the credit is for a class that basically teaches you office/windows). I got a 97% on excel. Just open it up and play around

As always I’d recommend Lynda video tutorials

I’d also recommend TotalTraining… but I think they only do creative programs… at least as far as I can remember.
