Mine is Gentoo Linux (http://www.gentoo.org). One of its many features is the “portage” system which automates downloads of new applications/packages including compiling them for you all in one command - incredibly more efficent than say RedHat’s RPC stuff.
I like Red Hat because it was simple to set up and works just fine for me as I’ve never used Linux before.
I don’t think too many other people use Linux here though
Our uni machines in the Animation Labs have all started using linux this year - and this has been the first time I’ve ever had any experience of it. We use RedHat. I really like it :thumb:
I decided to try out Linux just because I have a deep hate of Windows and Bill Gates, and I thought I’d get some experience with it cause it’s what most servers run.
I’ve been pretty pleased with it so far :thumb:
I like Mandrake havent had the oportunity to install the latest version 9.2 last version i used was 8 and gnome and kde as Guis are nice but not untill the appts i use fully support linux wihtout emulation i just cant make the change to linux fully guess im stuck with windows till this happens
