there is a bug in my flash mx software, and its not telling me the right file size of my movie when i click a movie and properties/file size. Is there a way inside flash mx how i could look for the file size of my movie?:asleep:
you mean the swf file??? if so when your testing the movie (ctrl+enter)
you can press ctrl+b to see the bandwith profiler which tells you how big your file is and how it will load on slower connections
I got this answer: when i go and click the fla file with my left mouse and click properties it tells me: 16,5 MB (17_301_504 bytes)
That´s really big.
and when i go to the flash mx program hit ctrl-enter the movie and then crtl-b it tells me: DIM 700X300 etc…file size:279kb etc…loaded:100%…etc…511kb
witch is the real file size?:h:
Clicking on the Flash file and then clicking properties would give you the size of the .fla file whereas the ctrl + b gives you the size of the .swf. That’s what I would think is happening.
does somebody know how to get the real file size , i have got the same problem before also…can´t see how to fix it
well the fla size and the swf file size will be diffrent since the fla is the original uncompressed file as to where the swf file is compressed so in reality both are real file sizes
the fla is the original file and the swf is the file you will use on the internet but the file sizes are diffrent because the swf is compressed its not a flash mx bug
if you want to knwo the actual file size of the swf just do right click properties on it
