I’ve created a Flash based website that I hope will be easily recognised by Googlebots (among others) and won’t get me blacklisted by the search engines. I’ve used the Publish feature to place each Flash page in its own HTML page. On each HTML page I’ve added the appropriate Meta Tags. Also, because I’ve read that Google don’t recognise Meta tags, I’ve added the content of each Flash page in 12pt black text, 5 lines down at the bottom of each page. Although people can choose to see this text by scrolling down, the design of the page encourages them to not use the scroll bar.
My questions are these:
-
Have I done enough to ensure that Google and others don’t think I’m cheating?
-
Currently when anyone links from one of my HTML/Flash pages to another the screen goes blank (to the background colour) for a few seconds before the next page comes up. Is there anything I can do about this? I don’t currently have any pre-loaders. Obviously I know I could avoid this if I used Load Movies and had the whole site placed one a single HTML page - but I’ve read that this limits Search Engine placing.
-
I noticed that all the Flash text I’ve used and all the HTML links appear in the HTML code. Will search engines recognise this information?
Cheers
Nick
