Hi All, I’m new here and a newbie at flash etc so please bear that in mind, thanks :}.
I’m pulling my hair out trying to create a fairly simple email form for my flash based website. I have searched for and tried various tutorials and posts in these forums but none of them seem to work. All used a PHP file uploaded to my server but alas none of them worked.
One thing that does perplex me is in one tutorial it described creating text input fields, which is no prob, but I was required to assign a variable to the field, when I tried to do that CS5 told me that is not allowed in AS3 ! The tutorial author specifically said that the ‘Instance Name’ is NOT where the variable name goes yet this is all that seems to be available in the Properties window. There is a Variable input field but it’s greyed out, a window comes up saying that this feature is not supported in AS3!!
Anyway, to end my pain, does anybody have source code or tutorial or whatever for a straightforward email form using FlashCS5 and AS3 (using a PHP file is fine) that actually works ? All I need is Name, Email and the Message itself, a Phone Number field would be nice but I don’t want to get too greedy !! :doh: Any help would be very much appreciated.
