Ok, all of us flash people have to have a flash detection script at the beginning of our web site. It can be a simple line of text that asks the viewer “if you see the animation above you have flash and you may proceed click here, or click here if you do not see the animation.” You can also have a java script or other typescripts that do the work for you and detect if the user has flash or not.
How does this all effect search engines and the placement of a flash site? I know there has to be a difference. I have already read the tutorial here about search engines but it really does not answer the question.
P.S. Quick note to all “Flashers” I am almost positive that the search engine, “AllTheWeb” is able to read an swf. Meaning, all the text in the swf is readable by the search engine. YE HA. Come on Google get your $h!t togther!

Have you read Google’s explanation of how sites are ranked?
The text content on your page is important in terms of matching relevant keywords, but ranking is based more on who links to your site and how high they are ranked.
One way to handle the text content so that their search spiders will see it, but the viewer won’t is to put it in an HTML layer that isn’t visible.
Google of course is very important to be indexed in, but what about other engines and the invisible html text idea. I have read that some engines will disqualify your site if you use this method.
Anyone ever been disqualified for invisible text?
