Flash mx 2004: no clue how to use

I just got macromedia flash mx 2004, and I don’t have a clue how to use it. I wanna start by redoing my website with it, so I have two questions.

How do I make drop down menu’s in flash? (and just make webpages)

and there’s something on another flash site I really like that I want to use but I don’t know how to do it in flash or at all.
http://www.midi-nette.com/mana/exist.html I want to use a book effect like that for a photo album. Can anyone help me? cause I’m clueless :frowning: I’d really appreciate some help.

Why do you get a soft if you have no clue how to use it?
1.Read everything in the help,
2.Do a few of the tutorials for MX
3.Read all you can find on Macromedia’s Dev section
4.Read the tut’s over at Ultrashock
5.Start doing your own stuff, and when you’ve got at least an idea about how to use Flash, post back with specific questions.
6.If you want someone to make stuff for you, you’ll need to PAY!! Lots!! lol
Seriously, it’s like “can you write this essay for me, i don’t wanna do my homework…”

Really would advise against running before you’ve found your feet other wise it will look like Friday afternnoon kindergarden colouring in session!

do you have any hands on experience w/ flash? since i already knew how to use swish before i decided to use this program… im not good w/ macormedia flash but im learning…

I’ve bought lots of software that I didn’t have a clue how to use, but after a little bit I was fine with it w/ no probs. Just flash is more complicated. And I do plan to make some stuff before posting it and looking like a 3 yr old drew with thier feet :stuck_out_tongue:
There’s only a few things I want to do with it so I decided to just ask about that in hopes it would give me a feel for it. And the software was a gift :slight_smile: i wasn’t about to pay that much when I didn’t know what i was doing lol I just wanted to know how to make drop down menus which i got a tutorial for now, and just websites in general.

heh i say practice w/ swish for now… if you want it and you got aim or something give me an IM and i can give you it… swish is alot more simple… i got my basic understanding from there… now i’ve been using macromedia mx for a week… still learning :slight_smile:

drop down menus are much easier to do in DHTML so if thats the only thing you what to do right now to your site I recommend heading over to www.dynamicdrive.com and grab one of their menu scripts and leave flash off of your site for now.
