Forcing a button to its rollover state

Can anyone tell me if I can force a button to show its rollover state without putting a mouse over it?

My situation is this: I’m making an animation demoing how to use an interface, I’ve got a mouse pointer clip that moves over some buttons to show they are interactive, and I need the buttons to show their roll over state when the clip moves over them.

I could draw the rollover states into the animation but there are multiple set of buttons loaded dynamically depending on which page the movie is viewed from so really what I want is one animation to demo all the different button layers rather than having to create an animation for each.

I’m making this in Flash 5 but if its possible to do in MX and not 5 I’d like to know as it might be enough to persuade my bosses to go with MX.

Thanks in advance
