Well over the last few years, this year in particular. I am starting to do more and more freelance. My freelance workload has doubled over the previous year.
I only do freelance on a part-time basis, and it isn’t reported as my full-time job due to my regular design 9-5.
Which brings me to the ultimate question. Do you guys have a freelance tax ID? How do you handle the business side of things with your clients?
I strictly work based off contracts with my clients, however I’ve experienced both “gift” funds and reported incomes from my clients.
Now that things have gotten to this point, should I get a TAX ID so that Uncle Sam isn’t knocking on my door come tax time?
(i.e. Clients have reported paying me, while I have reported the income).
Are they easy to get? Do they cost anything?
