i just downloaded fusekit, but i’m having problems to use it, because it works in a different way than flash tween class…
well, i spent the hole day trying to change my animations to fuse, but i cant find the answers in they’re help page, because everything has different names… easing is penner easing, fuse is onething, zigo engine is another thing, i could not understand quite well the way this thing works.
does anyone know some friendly tutorials on how to stard with this?
well, i got to know how to animate a few properties, but now i cant find the “onMotionFinished” (from the tween class) functions…
hope my bad english aind that bad and anyone can help this fuse newby…
— Also since FuseKit died with AS2 (although GOASAP is for AS3 and Mose’s continuation of sorts), you might be better served using a tween kit that has AS2 and AS3 with the coding parallel, for ease of use and moving forward.
I was just reading that thread you posted prg and I am one to say that I too am an ex-fuse user. TweenLite is simply amazing. Its faster than fuse and smaller file size which is always a plus. I would recommend using TweenLite pantas.
Dont get me wrong though. Fuse is a very nice tweening engine to as it has many many features, but for what I used it for which was basic slides and easing and fades, you dont need the weight of that engine. Ive been using fuse for about 2 years or so and just recently started using TweenLite.
Concerning which one I use, I choose whichever is right for the job at hand. But having said that, TweenLite, TweenFilterLite, TweenMax are pretty capabale for almost anything that is needed and given the small file size added to your files as well as the speed of those tween kits they prove pretty darn good for most things. I also like Tweener/MCtween. Plus as mentioned earlier the AS2/AS3 is identical in usage which is a big advantage going forward.
I like FuseKit, it is nice and has tons of features, however at times it feels like your detatching your whole garage to take with you when really all you need to grab is a screw driver for the job. So the file size can be deterring, as well as speed in some cases. I also feel the syntax is less intuitive for alot of people, esecially people that are new to it. But again Laco & Moses did some great work and its a great kit, so props to them for sure.
But again you really have to look at the job at hand, the desired outcome and which tool best fits the needs. Like the other post you found useful mentions.
prg9, it’s certainly encouraging to hear that you’re finding TweenLite/Filter/Max so useful. I’d love to hear under what circumstances you switch to a different engine these days. What is TweenLite/Filter/Max not good for? I’m always looking to make it better.
Hi Jack,
Always amazed at how you scour the internet and find threads/blogs about your codes
Like I said I think tween/lite/filter/max are great and solidly allow for almost all scenarios. But likewise maybe at times there is a legacy project that is not worth updating or would be too combersome to do so, or in the case of say AnimationPackage where its a kit that offers things others just do not out of the box, etc… ColorTransformProxy, I think Fuse has this built in for example…
Likewise if ColorTransformProxy, TransformMatrixProxy, (and the whispers of DistortedView, Simple3D, and ParticleEmitter, etc…) were all built-in/add-ons and FREE, then I would say close the door on all the rest I am sold. (I scour the internet also)
But serious like everything the right tool for the job should always be evaluated, and in most cases your tools are spot on.
I appreciate the continued speed consideration, features a great but speed is optimal :thumb:
Membership privilages, is there going to be a Greensock MasterCard also
Your welcome, but more importantly thank you!
PS: I try to respond with unbiased/impartial comments concerning tween kits, so others whom are unaware of all the tween engines can sort it out for themselves and maybe find use in all the good tools out there. But I do talk about yours alot (hint).
