I want to by my ladyfriend a netbook for her birthday, preferably in the $300-$400 range. She’ll pretty much just use it for movies, music, internet surfing, and school stuff, so it doesn’t need to be anything crazy. I basically know what kind of general components it’ll need, but I wanted to check with you guys to see which brands were high/low quality, anything to watch out for, etc.
I also wanted to know if I should be going for Windows 7, or XP. I’m guessing 7 is better, but I wasn’t sure if there were performance issues for netbooks or something.
