Psh “we don’t accept 14 year olds” my arse
I’m amazed to… But I think if you want to get a great service you need loads of people working on it. around to world.
You would be amazed if you knew how many servers they have…
Needsless to say, A LOT.
I hear most of the current employees became millionaires last month when google’s stock went public:)
/me applies for all positions… :o
Wow, that’s awesome, the benefits are superb as well!
google is defanly not evil
I’m curious how does google generate money?, especially if they can afford all that stuff
I’m guessing advertising They may even get some money by licensing some of their stuff to other companies.
No kidding, the software they must have developed to search through millions of terabytes of data in a second, to crawl the entire web in a few days, things like that.
Yeah, a significant portion is from licensing out their technology to other search engines. For a few years, Yahoo, MSN, and AOL were all running off of the Google technology. I read somewhere that they were each paying like 600 million dollars per year to google (or maybe it was 60 million… not sure), also, they just made over a billion dollars from their IPO (when they started selling stock)
this story is from archive w/out a follow-up, but this (the old employees are all now millionaires) may explain the huge surge in vacant positions:
