I have been contemplating a career change recently. Over the last year I have been learning web/Flash design after my normal 9-5 work. I am currently an Electrical Engineer (been doing that for 5 years now).
I have a wife and child to support and would like to know what kind of lifestyle change (ie salary change) I should expect if I continue to pursue a career change into web design. How much do entry level web designers make in the US?
Currently I bring home btwn 60-70K a year with my current job (I live in NC). I just want to see if I’d be better suited doing freelance and keeping my current day job (would do this if the reduction is pay is quite drastic).
