I’m not sure… I think the contracts Rockstar had with Sony ended so they quickly released the Xbox versions.

Halo’s meant for the Mac, just like the Marathon games before it.
Microsoft just bought them out at an intermediate stage of development and forced them to make it for the box first.
Actually Halo for Mac was a real time strategy game, which was then set for Mac and PC, and then Bungie was bought by Microosft who wanted Bungie to basically convert Halo Mac’s story line into a first person shooter game, like Marathon. Basically, Halo from 1999 to 2001 were completely different.
