well today i got some serious problem with my external drive :< i got a 200GB PATA HD which i use it as external in 2 partition 50GB and 150GB. just when i see one of the partition cannot be openend and asked me to format it, i thought it was my system that was need restarting.
but once i reboot, the system checks the other partition and detected some folders there unreadable while the other 150GB NTFS partition which i used most won’t read at all so i checked the disk on windows’ disk management and while the 50GB partition under FAT32 is fine the other one however, altough the status is “healthy” it didn’t know what file system is in there (which should be NTFS) and the free space count is 100%.
i assume because this does not caused by head crash or (as far as my knowledge goes) low format stuff the data should remains there and still recoverable is it?
my only suspect is that probably my USB got disconnected / connection failed or windows error and stuff… but does anyone has any clearer idea what might cause this? :puzzle:
