Hard drive recognized in XP, but not in 2000

Hi guys, I was working on my server this weekend, which runs Windows 2000, and I had to temporarily swap one of the disks into my main desktop, which runs XP. The drive is in perfect condition and reads completely normally, it’s not corrupt. But when I put it back in my server, it shows the disk as unformatted (or “unrecognized file system”). When I bring it back to my desktop, it’s perfectly normal. All my disks are NTFS volumes. What gives? Anyone had this problem before? At one point I thought, “Maybe it has something to do with having been used by XP, even briefly,” but I have another drive that I had to swap and it reads totally normally in the server despite having been in the XP computer.

Any insights? It’s rather strange. And before anyone says, “Just install XP on the server,” I think that’s way overkill for the age of the computer and 2k is working fine on it. Thanks in advance, guys!
