Harddrive empty?!

I was going to play some music on my external harddrive, but the program couldn’t find my musicfiles. I looked in my music folder an saw that it was empty! I looked through every folder on the HDD, and all the folders were empty (0 bytes). Only the root folder on the two partitions are left. If I look in the properties, the amount of used space is like before, but there’s nothing in the folders! I have no idea what’s wrong, but my brother borrowed it, and he might have had a virus. He had it plugged in to his computer all night, so if he had a virus, it might have gotten into it.

Have this happened to anyone here? I mean, it’s like the files is invisible, but still taking up space… Hope there is a solution to all of this, I don’t want to loose 130gb worth of files, programs and schoolwork.

just throwing this out there…

did you enable showing hidden folders?
