Hey everyone, I need some serious help.
I really want to have a logo for my site and all right, well it’s harder than it sounds to make one.
See I wanted to do something with an x at first but I realized everything uses an x and that’s way too common.
So then I went to go use the pen tool… ouch… that was a mistake… no matter what program I tried it in I couldn’t make anything good looking at all. So if anyone knows a really good pen tutorial or has any advice at all that would be awesome.
pen tool = practice… lots of practice…
Rev
I’m thinking it’s gonna take me years and years of practice… but that’s the only way I get good at anything… so I guess I should just keep trying
Thanks
Pretty much any prog. pen tools take some time to get use to. What prog?
I tried with photoshop but that was horrendous… i also tried in freehand and did a little bit better
I can help with Illustrator or Corel

use the logo on your footer, it’s sweet.
Really, ya think so?
I really like it too, but I think x’s are way overused… hmmm
x’s are overused?
i don’t really think so, i can’t think of an x logo off the top of my head…
what are overused are swirl logos. besides, i think it’s a great logo and it’d be an excellent representation of your site.
well theres xbox
and umm x-men?
yeah ok i guess there arent all that many.
Thanks for the advice and kind words, I guess I’ll use it then:)
28 have you been seeing to many “xxx” lol!
that’s what it was… silly me
Hehe
The pen tool is easy once you get used to it. Its not always the best way though, I only use it for very precise work.
The best way to learn is to import a simple one colour image into ur vector application, lock it on a lower layer and try to accurately trace around the edges of that image. Just remember not to make your lines or curves too big and split them up with points and u will be fine.
well i can pretty much trace one sided figures… but I have big problems with corners… that’s where the pen goes all oogly boogly (cool word right there)
